Severe weather across all of Southeast Louisiana

A Flash Flood Watch is in effect late tonight through late Saturday evening across south Mississippi and southeast Louisiana. Some of the initial heavy rain development could start late tonight (after 1 am) across portions of southwest Mississippi into south central Louisiana, remaining areas west of I-55 Saturday morning to around midday, and from late morning through the afternoon and evening across the portions of southeast Louisiana and south Mississippi to the east of I-55 and in coastal areas. Average rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches are expected, however locally higher totals over 6" will be possible where slow moving or multiple bands of thunderstorms move over the same area. These rainfall amounts could cause flash flooding and river flooding is likely.

There is a Slight to Enhanced Risk of severe weather across all of Southeast Louisiana and Southern Mississippi. Severe storms will be possible all day; mainly west of I-55 in the morning to around midday, and east of I-55 and across coastal areas during the late morning, afternoon and evening.
